Auction.com is excited to announce that Mirza Baig has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer.
As CTO, Mirza will lead Auction.com’s Systems Architecture, Dev Ops/Infrastructure, and Engineering teams.
“Mirza was head of engineering before being promoted to CTO,” said Jason Allnutt, Auction.com CEO. “He has a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to team structure while balancing long-term and immediate business needs. He also displays a unique ability to partner with leaders from across the company to help execute our business strategies.”
Mirza has over 20 years of tech, driving key initiatives by promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration. He will continue to be an essential partner to Product, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
Mirza comes to Auction.com after 19 years with Experian. He held numerous positions there, but most recently, he led their direct-to-consumer engineering teams and built consumer-facing products, including web, mobile, and backend services. He also helped lead a re-platforming of the company’s technology, where they reorganized the business, technology, and teams to innovate and deliver products more quickly. After the re-platforming, they went from two product releases per month to nearly a hundred releases a month.
In addition to his time at Experian, Mirza also led engineering teams at Amazon, helping drive innovation in the Prime Now shopping experience and Alexa Skills Stores teams.
When Mirza isn’t working, he spends a lot of time with his family, which includes his wife and four children, ages 12, 10, 9, and 6. He enjoys family bike rides, backpacking, camping, and sports. Recently, he’s taken up woodworking with his kids.
