Ian Beniston, executive director of the Youngstown, Ohio Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC), leverages the Auction.com marketplace to help eradicate neighborhood blight.
His company purchased a bank-owned property from Auction.com as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to reduce vacancy and increase quality housing in the Idora neighborhood of Youngstown. Since YNDC began working in the neighborhood, property vacancy rates have fallen from 26 percent to 5 percent while the homeownership rate has started to rise again after a 40-year decline.
