Congratulations to Auction.com’s George Lane for his recent promotion to Chief Legal Officer.
Lane has been with Auction.com for 10 years, overseeing a legal team with an outstanding record of leading the company and industry through legal and compliance challenges. He and his team have also been on the forefront of initiatives and new product launches that are revolutionizing the industry.
“I have been very lucky to have had incredible mentors and influences throughout my time as inhouse counsel here at Auction.com,” Lane said. “I am very thankful to the company and legal leaders past and present who have provided me with mentorship and outstanding examples of leadership. These experiences have provided me with the tools to be an effective leader and the opportunity to gain extensive experience over the years with the company.”
In his new role, Lane will be part of the core leadership team, where he’ll develop and drive initiatives in conjunction with an effective legal strategy around industry relations, regulatory matters, and compliance. He’ll continue to lead and further evolve the legal team to continue providing effective support of Auction.com’s mission as well as fortifying and expanding internal controls and corporate governance.
Over the last decade, Lane and his team have been involved in many industry-changing programs and initiatives. With an extensive industry knowledge, Lane and his team craft unique legal solutions and regulatory sound approaches to achieve the goals of the company and our clients.
Lane feels none of this could have been possible without his incredible legal team.
“I am extremely thankful for our outstanding legal team and the critical role they each play to support Auction.com’s success, and I look forward to develop and build this incredible team into the future,” he said.
While at Auction.com, Lane has received the HousingWire Rising Star Award and Commitment to Excellence Award, and was named multiple times as an Impact Player and a Game Changer, titles bestowed upon Auction.com employees for going above and beyond. George holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif, served as editor of The Texas Bank Lawyer, and served as a member of the Board of Barristers.
