Auction.com is excited to announce that industry veteran Erin Persons has joined the company as its VP of government relations and community development.
Persons will be involved in leading the way in the expansion of distressed property sales to homeowners and mission-driven organizations with a goal of increasing homeownership on a broader level.
“I am excited to work for a company that puts people first, both from an employee and a broader mission perspective,” she said.
Jesse Roth, Auction.com EVP of Business Development said, “We are extremely excited to have Erin on our team to help us continually improve our outcomes for neighborhoods, buyers, and sellers. Her experience will help us deepen internal relationships and collaboration, broaden opportunities to purchase auction properties for homeowners and non-profits, and create unique industry partnership to create more homeownership opportunities.”
Before taking her new position as Auction.com, Persons was the VP of program operations for the National Community Stabilization Trust (NCST). NCST is a non-profit organization focused on taking vacant and abandoned properties and getting them into the hands of organizations that rehab them and either sell or rent to low-to-moderate income families.
Persons said that working at a non-profit was rewarding, but she hopes to find a way to make a larger impact.
“Auctions are going to be a substantial part of distressed asset sales as we move through the changing real estate landscape,” she said. “Properties acquired at auction are, in many cases, being developed as homeownership opportunities for those who need them. But we still have challenges to meet.”
Persons wants to help make all distressed properties available for homeownership, whether through a direct homeowner purchase opportunity or through sales to mission-driven developers who can create a home for a deserving individual or family.
“There are stories to be told and families to be impacted, and I want to make all of that happen with Auction.com,” said Persons.
When not working, Persons enjoys singing and playing the piano, cooking, gardening, and playing games with family and friends.
