Min Alexander, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Auction.com, the nation’s largest online real estate marketplace for distressed properties, is a Housingwire 2020 Women of Influence.
“Thank you to HousingWire for this recognition,” said Alexander. “I’m proud to be leading our amazing team at Auction.com, where our achievements are driven by teamwork, relentless innovation, and commitment to our sellers and buyers. We are passionate about real estate and work every day to make real estate investments more accessible and inclusive through technology. I am very proud to work for a company that prizes top talent, leading by example to embrace diversity and inclusion at all levels of leadership.”
The award honors high-achieving women across the U.S. housing economy who are making notable contributions to their business and the industry at large, with a specific focus on accomplishments in the last 12 months.
Alexander oversees Auction.com’s technology, data science, marketing, and operations business units, empowering buyers with the tools and services that transform how real estate is bought and sold. She is a driving force behind the company’s industry-leading performance and innovation with an established track record pushing new initiatives for the industry. Alexander has twenty years of real estate experience, the past eight years building asset management, online auction, short sale, CWCOT, and brokerage services to best serve sellers and buyers — all part of leading the charge to make real estate investments more accessible to everyone.
Recently, she was behind the launch of Direct Offer and Remote Bid. Direct Offer is a feature that lets buyers make private offers directly to sellers on select bank-owned properties in an online format like traditional offline sales. Remote Bid, a mobile app feature that lets buyers bid remotely on select in-person foreclosure properties from anywhere, is rolling out to hundreds of counties.
Under Alexander’s leadership, the Auction.com platform, products, and mobile app have been consistently enhanced to increase access and transparency to democratize real estate investments to support the needs of sellers and buyers. This innovative direction will continue to support the needs of sellers and buyers across the country as traditional, offline real estate sales stall from the COVID-19 crisis.
Alexander is also driving leading innovation through new machine learning and artificial intelligence applications to solve common real estate industry problems. She and her team have partnered with Dimitris Bertsimas, Professor of Operations Research and the Associate Dean for the Master of Business Analytics at MIT, to create a predictive pricing model, which incorporates over 20 million proprietary Auction.com transaction data elements, forward-looking macro-economic indicators, and buyer demand signals to create dynamic pricing strategies. This innovation increases transparency, reduces risk, and has the potential to transform real estate buying and selling for best outcomes.
Alexander started her career at Accenture as a strategy consultant in the financial services sector. Before joining Auction.com, Alexander served as President and CEO of REALHome Services and Solutions, a top-10 ranked U.S. brokerage, and Senior Vice President of Real Estate Services for Altisource based in Boston, MA, and Luxembourg, where she oversaw the asset management, brokerage, property preservation, short sale, and auction services business units. Alexander led cross functional teams across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and oversaw the creation and expansion of Altisource’s Assisted Short Sale Program, Foreclosure, and CWCOT Auction Services and Asset Renovation business units.
Alexander is a graduate of Duke University (BA) and MIT (MBA). She enjoys traveling with her family, renovation projects, and good wine and food.
