Most Auction.com distressed property buyers are local investors who rehab and resell homes to owner-occupants, according to Auction.com’s 2021 Buyer Insights Report. More than 75% of distressed property buyers are local investors and nearly 90% of buyers purchased five or fewer investment properties in 2020.
For about 13% of buyers, improving homes and investing in communities is their No. 1 motivator.
“My passion is really going back into the neighborhoods I grew up in and helping to enhance those areas through my rehabs,” said Auction.com buyer Sue McCormick. “And I also want to make a profit, of course.”
