Who is Auction.com investor, Cory Cybul? 

Cory Cybul is a licensed Illinois and Wisconsin agent, proudly providing real estate services – whether for buyers, sellers or investors – for over 10 years. He has received such designations as the “Re/Max 100% Club,” which places him within the top 1% of all real estate professionals in the nation as well as having earned Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond RE/Max Awards.

When and how did you get into this industry? 

I have been in the real estate industry since 1995. My entire family has been in the business for over thirty year now. It came natural to me as it was all around me from the start. I was very familiar with the business and enjoyed it as well. I wouldn’t change any of it.

What do you look for in a real estate investment? 

I look for many things in a real estate investment. I start with the location and move onto the structure from there. After that it all comes down to the ROI. There are many ways to look at your return whether it be short term or long term and so on. At the end of the day, the investment must be in a good or up and coming location, have good bones and of course, a solid return.

Do you have a preference? Rehab and resell or buy and hold? 

I rehab each property whether I am going to hold it or sell it. I would prefer to hold and rent all the properties if I had unlimited capital to do so. Therefore, I rehab some and hold some which is determined by the current working capital and the rate of return.

Before finding Auction.com, how do you find inventory? 

Prior to doing business with Auction.com, the traditional multiple listing service (MLS) was one of my main lead generation sources. In addition to that, I would attend live auctions to buy property. But with Auction.com, I can choose how I want to bid on properties – online or on the courthouse steps.

How long have you been working with Auction.com? 

Roughly 5 years.

How many properties have you purchased through the Auction.com platform?

I have purchased approximately 50 properties.

In your mind, is there anything Auction.com can do to make the experience better for you? 

The only thing that comes to mind is to get more inventory.
